Question
Why don't I see my Qsonix server when starting the Remote Pro App? Why doesn't the right-hand side of the app seem to update or refresh?
Answer
The Qsonix Remote Pro app utilizes an industry standard networking protocol based on "UDP Broadcast".   This protocol is an efficient way to send data to more than one device at a time.  In our case, the Qonix server broadcasts certain data on the network such as information for "device discovery", and "current playback status".    Some network routers have broadcast support disabled in their configuration settings by default, or in some cases do not support this capability at all.    Most modern routers and devices support this protocol, as it is increasingly being used by music streamers, uPNP, DLNA type devices.

If you are experiencing the symptoms noted above, please contact us via support@qsonix.com and be sure to include the make/model of the router and wireless gear you are using.   You may also find that you simply need to enable "Broadcast" or "UDP Broadcast" support in your router settings.

We are monitoring this issue closely and will make appropriate adjustments, changes to future releases of Qsonix Remote Pro.
